Take the free shuttle to town...
Uncrowded swim and surf beaches are as little as 10 minutes away, with world-famous waves for experts starting just 15 minutes away at Playa Maderas. Private shuttles can be arranged for beach runs, and local taxis are also plentiful. For those staying longer and surfing a lot car and atv rentals are also a good option.
TreeCasa is located just outside the town of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. Getting to SJDS involves a flight to either Managua, Nicaragua (MGA) or Liberia, Costa Rica (LIB), then a scenic drive past fields of sugar cane, volcanoes, lakes, and windmills. How to Get to Nicaragua… Now!
Either way getting to TreeCasa from the airport takes roughly the same time (about 2.5 hours) so choosing the airport is a matter of flight costs, convenience and your overall travel plans.
TreeCasa can arrange door-to-door transport from either airport, which is recommended for first-time visitors or those who won’t otherwise need their own car. If flying to MGA you also have the option of renting a car from one of the major international rental companies at the airport, or can always rent one later from the same companies in San Juan del Sur. As rental cars generally cannot cross borders, flying into LIB you would need a transport service and then later could rent in San Juan del Sur.
